Capital One Losing Money

May 31st, 2008 by tad

I just heard that Capital One has reported a drop due to the recent economy drop. Capital One Financial Corp., who by the way is the largest independent U.S. credit-card issuer, reduced its full- year profit forecast by roughly 20 percent. They say that this estimate has been changed based on increasing loan losses. As the economy gets weaker the numbers just keep going down. That means that they fell 7.7 percent to $40 in early trading. Capital One is expecting approx $3.97 a share for 2007 which is considerably less than the original prediction of about $5. This drastic change in figures was caused by $1.9 billion of loan-loss provisions and $80 million in legal reserves in the fourth quarter. If you have got any shares in Capital One you may want to watch your stock.

Real Estate Still A Boom in NY

May 29th, 2008 by tad

Now I have heard people talk about how the real estate market is real bad in their different areas of the countries and I am sure that it is. The thing is that there are some parts of the country that remain almost unaffected by this light recession. New York City real estate for instance is still booming. I mean sure it has dropped a little bit but nothing like some of these other majors cities out there that are almost giving property away. New York has always been one of the most expensive places to live and I am pretty sure that it will not be dropping off that list anytime soon. Guess we will have to watch and see.

Buying a Tanning Salon

May 29th, 2008 by tad

I have been thinking about investing in another business around town. I started looking into buying a tanning salon and was really convinced it would be a good investment, after all though things are popping up everywhere. But when I started doing a little bit of market research I found out that they are closing just as fast as they are opening. When I did a search on them in my area alone there were more than five for sale. That is never a good sign.

HGH or Steroids

May 27th, 2008 by tad

I talked about sports a little bit ago and that is because I am a huge sports nut. I spent all weekend on a UFC marathon watching all sorts of fighting events. I got to watch the BJ Penn versus Shawn Sherk fight that has been on hold for sometime. It was a real anticipated fight as Shawn Sherk never actually lost the belt that BJ currently holds. He had it taken away for supposed drug use. The thing that I didn’t like is the fact that he wasn’t using steroids but was using HGH. You know the Human Growth Hormone stuff like Sytropin. Things that actually help your body to fix itself after being worn out and help you work out without effecting you negatively. Anyway, it was a good fight and BJ ended up with a pretty strong win.

Finding a Good SEO Company

May 27th, 2008 by tad

In my last post I wrote about the importance of website traffic and what a difference a massive amount of traffic can do for your bottom line. The one thing I didn’t talk about are the best ways to get that traffic. So now that you know that you need traffic for your website you need to know what methods work and don’t work to bring that traffic in.

I have several methods that I use to bring traffic to all of my websites and they all work to a degree. Some work better than others and some work for different reasons. The most effective way that I have found to bring traffic to your website that actually convert to customers and sales involves optimizing your website through a really good website optimization firm. If you find a good website optimization firm who really knows what they are doing they can help to make your website more friendly and interesting to all of the search engines. Thus bringing in more targeted search engine result traffic of people that are actually looking for your product or service. So if you want long term targeted traffic I would suggest starting there. This will really help you out in the long run.
