Boxing Time

Okay so let me start by saying that I know that this is a business blog and sports are not typically something that I write about on this site. The thing is that although this is a corporate themed blog I recognize the fact that a majority of my readers are older males and therefore when something like this event comes up I get a little excited and can’t help but to tell other people that I think may also be interested. So here it is. I just found out that it looks like Oscar De La Hoya may back off on plans for a May fight. He was supposed to fight this month and everything is pointing to him totally shifting his attention to a much bigger fight in the months to come. The Golden Boy is now looking at a big money rematch with Floyd Mayweather in September.

Now I don’t know if any of you saw their first fight but I did and it was incredible. Their first bout that broke all Pay Per View records last May in Las Vegas. So you may be asking is this fight really going to happen? Is this rematch a for sure thing? Well Golden Boy Promotions’ CEO Richard Schaefer told ESPN that the bout is “almost finalized” for September 13 or September 20. So it is looking like yes indeed it is going to happen and they are just waiting to nail down the exact date. You can actually buy De La Hoya vs Mayweather tickets already so it is pretty much set. Can’t wait to see who wins this one.
