I have been watching the news very closely and although I think we are on the overall right track I am afraid that the short term decisions are not going to cut it. There are too many things being done to try and bailout the short term problems and no attention going into the long term resolution of this problem. That is going to take much more planning and work by both political parties together to figure out. I just hope everyone can stop fighting long enough to figure this out together.

I love writing. I mean I really love writing. I spend most of my day typing away like there is no tomorrow. I wish I could write my own book as I feel that I am rather good with wording and describing things. Okay that sounded lame. The point is that I enjoy writing and since the internet is a free place I end up spending a lot of my time in front of my computer doing nothing but blogging all day. I will write about just about anything and everything that happens in a day. Well, I would like to take this time to introduce you to something that can make your typing far more productive than usual. So this post is specifically sent out to all of my business and corporate friends who spend their days typing like I do. I came across this brand new program called Dragon Naturally Speaking 10 Standard. They also have a more advanced version called Dragon Naturally Speaking 10 Preferred. This program allows you to type approx 150 words per minute like it was nothing at all. This will bring up your bottom line like nobody’s business. Just click on this link – NYT on Dragon – or check out the videos for more information.

According to a recent study by UCLA California’s economy is actually more sluggish than the rest of the nations. According to UCLA Anderson Forecast senior economist David Shulman, who authored the September forecast says, “real GDP growth to be about 1 percent in the current quarter and essentially zero in both the fourth quarter of this year and the first quarter of 2009. What we are describing is an economy operating at its ‘stall speed’ where any modest shock can trigger a full-blown recession.” Things are not looking good in Cali right now and I think I am actually glad I moved out of there when I did.

That is the question of all questions actually. Everyone wants to know the best place to put their money to get the best return. Truth is that I am not that great at deciding on the best places. I just invest my money in things that I think will be around the longest. I just dropped some money into an electronics company that makes nothing but memory cards. Why you may ask. Simple. People love photos and cameras are a huge item all the time. Recession or not people will get together with family and take lots of pictures. Those pictures will be stored on the memory cards that I have invested in.

I have realized that lately I am spending far more time at the office than I am with the family. With a new addition to the family that is not a good thing. Unfortunately, I still have all the work that has to be done. I know this may be a bit unconventional but I think I am going to actually setup a nice little crib with some cool looking baby bedding and bring my son to work with me a couple days a week. I mean at the very least I will get some more time with him and still be able to get most of my work done.
